The "Girls on the Frontline of Change" programme was intentionally designed to position young girls at the forefront of environmental leadership, acknowedding their critical role in building sustainable interactive education,

mentorship, the event equipped participants with the knowledge. confidence,

tools to become champions environmental protection and positive social change.

In her address, the Initiative's Chairperson, Mrs. Tosin Whingan, reaffirmed the commitment to sustaining and expanding the Clean-Up Badagry project. She emphasized that environmental stewardship is a continuous, collective endeavour that thrives on consistent community participation and ownership.

The Member of the House of Representatives for Badagry Federal Constituency, Hon. Sesi Oluwaseun Whingan, also attended and commended the Initiative for its tangible achievements. In his remarks, he highlighted the alignment of the initiative's mission with broader goals for a greener Lagos and Nigeria. As Chairman of the Adhoc House Committee on the Mandatory National Decarbonisation Programme, Hon. Whingan stressed the essential role of community-led actions, like Clean-Up Badagry, in achieving national climate objectives.

He directly encouraged the young girls present to embrace their potential as powerful agents of change, urging them to step into their roles as ambassadors for environmental sustainability and community development.

As it steps into its second year, the Clean-Up Badagry Initiative reaffirms its dedication

scaling impact, strengthening partnerships, and deepening inclusive participation with a special focus on youth and women.

The Initiative calls on all residents, institutions, and partners to continue supporting collective efforts toward environmental sustainability, climate awareness, and the holistic development of Badagry.
