CLEAN-UP BADAGRY INITIATIVE LAUNCHES RECYCLING HUB
Today, April 2, 2026, the Clean-Up Badagry Initiative successfully launched the Clean-Up Badagry Recycling Hub, marking a major step toward promoting environmental sustainability, advancing the circular economy, and building a cleaner and greener Badagry community.
The event witnessed the presence of key stakeholders and partners, the Member representing Badagry Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives,

representatives of the Recycling Association of Nigeria led by its President Mr. Harold and Vice President Mr. Victor; the Food and Beverage Recycling Alliance led by Mrs. Aresse; our technical partner Ecoflow led by Dr. Rasheed Bakare; the Supervisor for Environment, Badagry Local Government, Hon.
Kemi Rabiu; representatives from the Ministry of Environment; officials from Badagry Local Government and Badagry LCDA environmental and health departments; community leaders; members of the public; and several other distinguished guests who came to show their support.
Speaking at the launch, the Chairperson, Hon. Mrs. Tosin Whingan, emphasized that the Recycling Hub is a community-driven project designed for the benefit of everyone. She encouraged residents and stakeholders to actively support and sustain the initiative, noting that environmental responsibility is a shared duty.
Representatives of partner organizations at the event, including the Recycling Association of Nigeria, the Food and Beverage Recycling Alliance, Ecoflow, and the Ministry of Environment, commended the Clean-Up Badagry Initiative for its forward-thinking approach to waste management and youth engagement.
They described the hub as a platform that will support job creation, environmental education, and sustainable development within the community.
In his remarks, Sesi Oluwaseun Whingan lauded the efforts of the initiative in advancing environmental sustainability in Badagry. He highlighted the importance of the circular economy and encouraged continued collaboratior among stakeholders to strengthen waste management systems and
environmental responsibility across the community.
